Isabella Mesa and Iraly Faria Break the 5k School Record

 

 

Teammates Isabella Mesa and Iraly Faria broke the CF 5k school record together pacing their teammates to 5 of the 8 Patriot runners achieving personal records.  Captain Iraly Faria ran alongside of Isabella Mesa in the Alligator Lake Invitational.  In her debut collegiate race, Mesa clocked a 22:18 PR and Faria a 22:21 PR both beating the previous 5k school record of 22:30 set by Brianna Carey in 2022. Mesa placed ninth overall and Faria came in tenth of all runners. Last season, Faria ran a 25:42 on this same course. Captain Magda Barcia ran a 22:50. Freshmen Concepcion Fradera (23:17 PR), Adreinne Bunn (23:52 PR), and Allison Robb (24:10 PR) all ran lifetime bests.  Rylee Zell (25:02) rounded out the top seven.  The team averaged a top 5 22:55 average breaking the previous 24:06 school record team average set last season at Nationals. 

 

 

 

The ladies look to the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Championships next Friday with great enthusiasm. The Patriots will race at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.  Go Pats!
