The College of Central Florida Softball team finished out the JUCO Kickoff Classic with two wins on Sunday over USAF Academy (CO) and Rend Lake (IL).

Game 1: CF 14 - USAFA 1

Leah Clark had a productive game in the first one going 3 for 4 with a double and a home run and 4 RBI. The Pats offense totalled 14 hits with Caitlin Blankenship (2-4, 2B) and Bailey Holmes (2-2, 2B) also having multi-hit games. Madison VanAllen had another quality start in the circle to improve to 2-0 on the year. The sophomore tossed 4 innings and did not allow any runs on three hits while striking out two. Skyler Hodges pitched the final inning, allowing an unearned run and striking out two.

Game 2: CF 10 - Rend Lake 2

Game two on the day was a pitching dual through three innings until Rend Lake scored two in the top of the 4th of CF starter Hailey Pyle. The Pats offense responded in the bottom of the 4th with a six run inning. Madison Driggers led off the inning with a walk before Gabrielle Rascher and Pyle hit back to back homers to take a 3-2 lead. The Pats pushed across three more runs in the inning on a Rend Lake error and a 2-run single by sophomore infielder Blankenship who was 3 for 4 in the game with 3 RBI. Rascher (2-3, R, 2 RBI, HR) and Holmes (2-2, R, RBI) also had multi-hit games.

Pyle, the Pennsylvania native, threw a complete game, allowing only the two runs in the 4th. She scattered 8 hits and walked just one batter to earn her second win of the season (2-0).

The CF softball team's next game will be on Feb 6th when they travel to Tallahassee Community Collge for a double header starting at 1 pm.
