Pats Drop Game 1 and Win Game 2 at Eastern Florida

The Lady Pats travelled to Melbourne to play at Eastern Florida State in a Citrus Conference match up. The Pats took a tough loss in game one in extra innings. After leading 3-1 in the sixth, the Manatees scored one in each the sixth and seventh to tie the game. Starting pitcher Haley Guffey was able to get out of a bases loaded jam with no outs in the bottom of the eight. She got a line drive double play to third baseman Haily Scott and a fly out to escape without any runs. The Manatees came out swinging in the ninth and after two singles and a sacrifice bunt designated player McKenzie Jewell hit a sacrifice fly for the walk-off win. Madi Wicihowski had a solid game at the plate going 1-1 with a triple, a walk, a hit by pitch and RBI. Madison VanAllen and Emma Rogel drove in the other two runs for the Pats. 

In game two the Pats got a run early on a Hailey Scott fielders choice. They added two more in the second with RBIs by Emma Rogel and Madison VanAllen. Ashley Martinec threw six innings in the circle. She scattered seven hits and only allowed one run for her second win of the year. Megan Loftis (2-4, 2 R, 2 SB) and Scott (2-4, RBI, 2B) each had multiple hits for the Pats

The Pats improve to 32-15 on the season and 23-5 in Citrus Conference games. They hold steady in the third spot in the conference standings. The next games for CF will be at home on Tuesday, April 9th vs the current fourth place Santa Fe Saints. Game one will start at 2 pm
