Pats Split Doubleheader at State College of Florida

The Lady Pats hit the road on Saturday morning to play in Bradenton at the State College of Florida, Manatee. 

Game 1: CF 0 - SCF 5

Game one was a pitchers dual between Patriot pitcher Haley Guffey and Manatee pitcher Julianna Stachowicz until the bottom of the sixth when the Manatees took advantage of four Patriot errors in the inning and scored 5 runs to take the lead. The Patriots out hit the Mantees three to two. Hailey Scott, Madison VanAllen, and Bailey Holmes had the three hits for the Pats. Guffey threw six innings and all five runs scored against her were unearned. 

Game 2: CF 7 - SCF 2

Game two was much of the same with it being tied 1-1 until the top of the 7th when the Pats bats came alive to score six runs on five hits. Madison VanAllen led off the inning with a home run to take the lead. Megan Loftis, Hailey Scott and VanAllen added RBI singles later in the inning to secure the lead. Carly Allen pitched a gem for the Pats. She went seven innings, giving up six hits and two runs while striking out three. She earned to her 5th win of the year to improve to 5-0. 

The Patriots improve to 35-15 overall and 26-8 in Citrus Conference play. They next play at home on Tuesday, April 16 against Daytona State. All sophomores will be recognized before the game at 1:30. First pitch of game one will be at 2 pm.
