CF Takes Down St Pete 7-4 in State Tournament Opener

The Patriots had a back and forth battle with the Titans before taking the lead for good in bottom of the fifth when the offense exploded for four runs. Gianna Guerriero got the Pats going with a bunt single to lead off the fifth. Kamaya Cohen followed with a walk before Brooke Roberts singled to score Guerriero. Hannah Meyer later reached on a error by the Titans first baseman allowing Cohen to score and tie the game. Katie Hogue then hit a sac fly to score the go ahead run making it 5-4. Madisyn Riggins finished out the scoring in the inning with a single to left field. The Patriots totalled nine hits on the day with three extra base hits and added four steals. Savannah Barnett got the win in the circle allowed six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out four. 

The College of Central Florida plays again tomorrow against Panhandle Conference Champion Pensacola State at 4PM.
