Patriots Softball Season Comes to an End with 5-1 Loss to Seminole State

After losing a tough game in extra innings to Paris Junior College the Patriots had to turn around and play Seminole State immediately following the game. Seminole State (Oklahoma) pitcher Britney Lewinski shut down the powerful Patriots offense, allowing only one run on three hits in the 5-1 game.

Seminole scored two runs in the third on a two-run home run by Mckenna Johnson off of starter Savannah Barnett. They added another run in the fourth with an RBI single by Laney Anderson to take a 3-0 lead. The Patriots pushed a run across in the sixth when Brooke Roberts singled to center to score Emily Konz after an error by the left fielder. In the end the Patriots couldn't muster up enough offense to beat the Trojans.

The College of Central Florida has much to be proud of this season. The Patriots had one of the best seasons in school history and won FSCAA State Title for the second time. They placed five players on the All-State team and expect to have more honors coming when the NJCAA All-American teams are announced.
