CF Takes Down Seminole Twice in Tight games

The Patriots got their 29th and 30th wins of the season against conference rival Seminole State on Tuesday. They improve to 30-12 overall, 5-1 in conference, putting them in first place in the Mid Florida Conference. In game one the Patriots used solid pitching and defense along with a couple timely hits to beat the Raiders 2-1. Gianna Guerriero (2-3, 2B,3B,R) doubled to lead off the game, advanced to third on a passed ball and later scored on Brooke Roberts RBI ground ball to short. Seminole tied it up in the fourth with a solo home run by Taylor Thomas. In the fifth, the Patriots took back the lead with two outs when Emily Konz singled to left and stole second to get in scoring position for Abbey O'Connor to score her on a single to right field. Savannah Barnett shut the Seminole offense down in the sixth and seventh to pick up the complete game win. She struck out eight in the game allowing only four hits and one run to earn her 14th win on the year.

In game two's 7-5 win the Patriots answered back after giving up two in the top of the first by scoring three in the bottom of the inning. They added three more in the third inning to increase their lead to 6-3. The Raiders came back with two more in the fifth inning to cut the lead to one, however the Patriots added another in the sixth for insurance. Emily Proctor surrendered five runs on six hits over five innings, striking out one and getting the win. Katey Pierce threw two innings in relief to close out the game and get the save allowing only 1 hit and striking out one. The College of Central Florida had 11 hits in the game.
