Patriots Win Two Over Falcons

In Game 1 the Patriots used a six-run fourth inning to secure the victory over conference opponent Daytona State. The offense in the inning was led by Gabbie Haas, Gianna Guerriero (1-3, 2R, SB), Kamaya Cohen (2-3, 2RBI, SB), and Alyssa Adams (1-2, 2RBI), who each had RBIs in the inning. The Patriot's Ace Savannah Barnett got the win for College of Central Florida. She allowed only three hits and no runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking only one improving her record to 13-4.

In Game 2 the Patriots won 10-2, outhitting the Falcons 12 to 6. Gianna Guerriero led of the game with a home run to get the offense going. Guerriero collected four hots on the day going 4-4 with a HR and a double. She has been on a tear this season, hitting .552 with 7 home runs, 8 doubles and 21 stolen bases. The Patriots scored three runs in the first and then added on with four more in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth to complete the run rule. Guerriero, Alyssa Adams, and Lily Garnett-Brown all had multiple hits in the game. Katey Pierce was the winning pitcher for CF, allowing six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out three and improving to 6-2 on the season.

The Patriots are now 28-12 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Their next matchup is on Tuesday 3/22 at vs Seminole State at home in Ocala, FL, first pitch of game one will be at 2 PM.
