Softball Handles Lake Sumter and Daytona State

Game 1: 

  • A six-run first inning led College of Central Florida Patriots Softball to an 11-3 victory on Thursday. College of Central Florida Patriots Softball's big bats in the inning were led by singles by Hannah Meyer and Isabella Pinto, a home run by Emily Dixon, a groundout by Abbey O'Connor, and a double by Odalys Cordova.

Lake-Sumter State College then answered when Opsahl hit a solo homer.
  • College of Central Florida Patriots Softball pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Hannah Meyer singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Gianna Gurriero singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Griffin induced Odalys Cordova to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

  • Madison Edwards pitched College of Central Florida Patriots Softball to victory. Edwards lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one and walking one.
  • Emerson took the loss for Daytona State College Falcons Varsity. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while walking zero.
  • Kelly started the game for Daytona State College Falcons Varsity. The bulldog allowed eight hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out two and walking zero
  • College of Central Florida Patriots Softball tallied one home run on the day. Thompson went for the long ball in the first inning.
