NO. 2 PATRIOTS HEAD INTO HOME OPENER 6-0

The No. 2 ranked College of Central Florida softball team got off to a hot start this weekend at the JUCO Kickoff. The Patriots picked up six wins; three of those wins being shutouts.

In the circle, our combined pitching staff was dominant giving up only 6 runs in just as many games while posting 33 strikeouts. Freshman, Madison Edwards, recorded her first no-hitter against No. 6 ranked State College of Florida-Manatee. Barb Cook picked up her first shutout of the year against No. 10 Pensacola State College.

At the plate, the Patriots scored a total of 47 runs on the weekend. Devyn Howard batted in 16 of those runs while Odalys Cordova and Emily Dixon had five RBI each.

The Patriots home opener is a double-header against Hillsborough Community College today, February 4th at 2:00PM and 4:00PM.
