#CFSOFTBALL CLINCHES FOURTH CONFERENCE TITLE, HEADS TO STATE TOURNAMENT

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team is the Mid-Florida Conference champion for the fourth time in six years under head coach Kevin Fagan.

The Lady Patriots secured the 2019 conference title after sweeping Seminole State College 4-1, 8-0 (5 innings) back on April 7. This year's Patriot squad posted the second best conference record in program history, finishing 23-1.

With the wins, CF heads to the FCSAA State Softball Tournament for the sixth consecutive year, this year with the Mid-Florida Conference No. 1 seed. Coach Fagan has led the Lady Patriots to a state tournament appearance each of his six seasons as head coach, including a NJCAA national runner-up finish his rookie season in 2014.

The FCSAA State Softball Tournament, a double-elimination tournament, is set to kickoff May 2-5 at Boombah Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood, Fla. CF will open up the tournament against Eastern Florida State College, the Southern Conference runner-up, on Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. Win and the Lady Patriots would advance into the winner's bracket, taking on the winner of Chipola-State College of Florida on Friday, May 3 at 4 p.m. If CF drops game one, it'll fall to the loser's bracket and face the loser of Chipola-SCF at 10 a.m. on Friday.
