RIVERS NAMED FCSAA SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball player Kelsie Rivers was named the FCSAA Region VIII Softball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tallahassee native went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA during the voting period, including a one-hit shutout against conference rival Seminole State College. Rivers allowed just three hits and walked seven, while striking out eight in wins over Daytona State College and Seminole to help NJCAA No. 5/ FCSAA No. 3 Patriots clinch its fourth Mid-Florida Conference title in the last five years under head coach Kevin Fagan. 

On the year, Rivers is 16-3 with one save and 108 strike outs in 116.2 innings pitched. She leads the Patriot pitching staff with a 2.16 ERA and has thrown 11 complete games this season. 

RANKINGS: CF Softball cracks the top 5 in this week's NJCAA Softball poll, joining fellow FCSAA schools Florida SouthWestern State College (1) and Chipola (3). The Lady Patriots hold steady at No. 3 in the state behind FSW and Chipola.
