WOLLINGTON NAMED FCSAA SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

OCALA-- College of Central Florida softball player Karli Woolington was named the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Softball Player of the Week for games played April 23-29.

The Tallahassee infielder batted .769 (10-of-13) on the week with four runs scored, a home run and three RBI to help lead the NJCAA No. 6/ FCSAA No. 3 Patriots to a 3-1 record, including a split with nationally-ranked Indian River State College. Woolington went a combined 5-for-7 at the plate against State College of Florida and 5-for-6 in the Indian River doubleheader, including a home run and two RBI in game one. 

Woolington ranks No. 2 in the state with a .480 batting average and has blasted eight home runs and driven in 41 runs in 52 games this season. In her two-year career at CF, she has recorded 61 RBI, 12 homers and 16 doubles in 219 at bats. 

Woolington will now look to continue her hitting streak as she and the Patriots travel to Longwood, Fla. for the 2018 FCSAA State Softball Tournament May 3-6. CF will face off against St. Petersburg College on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the opening round. Click here for tournament details.
