OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team is headed to the FCSAA State Softball Tournament for the fifth straight year under head coach Kevin Fagan. The 2018 tournament will be hosted at Boombah Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood, Fla. May 3-6.

The Mid-Florida Conference champions open up the tournament against Suncoast Conference runner-up St. Petersburg College on May 3 at 7 p.m. The Patriots are 3-1 against the Titans this year, splitting a doubleheader at St. Pete before run-ruling them by a combined score of 21-6 in the doubleheader at CF in mid-February.

The tournament is a double-elimlination tournament. If the Patriots defeat St. Pete, CF will advance to the semifinals of the winner's bracket against the winner of Chipola-Eastern Florida State on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m. A loss in the opening round would drop CF down to the loser's bracket for the first of multiple games starting on Friday at 1p.m. Click Here for the complete tournament bracket.

The championship game is set for Saturday, May 5 at 4 p.m. Winner will clinch a spot in the NJCAA national tournament in St. George, UT May 16-19. Winner of the loser's bracket will clinch the District H Championship and will also receive a national tournament birth.
