#CFSOFTBALL SWEEPS DAYTONA STATE

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team continues to roll in conference, sweeping Daytona State College 3-2, 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at the CF Softball Complex. The Patriots are now 45-9 overall and 18-2 in conference, sitting in first place in the the Mid-Florida Conference with four conference games to go. 

CF led Daytona 3-1 heading into the seventh inning, but the Falcons hit a two-out, solo homer to bring the game to within one. Starter Lindsay Markham-Rosario forced a ground out to end the rally and pick up her state and national best 24th win of the season. 

Karli Woolington, Anina Fernandez and Elaina Lukas each went 1-for-3 at the plate and recorded a RBI in the win.

In the circle, Markham-Rosario tossed a complete game, allowing two earned runs on four hits and struck out 10.

In game two, the Patriot offense strung together 10 hits, with Takiya London blasting two home runs to bring her season total to 17. London currently ranks No. 2 in the state and No. 6 in the nation in total home runs. 

Woolington (1-for-3) knocked in two runs, while Tiffany Steczo and Lukas each drove in one. 

Morgan Cushman, the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week, picked up her 16th win of the season, allowing just one earned run on five hits and struck out five.

The Patriots return to action when it hosts Lake-Sumter State College for a conference doubleheader at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
