#CFSOFTBALL RANKED NO. 5 IN NJCAA

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team jumped three spots to No. 5 in this week's NJCAA Div. I softball poll.

FCSAA No. 3 CF (41-9) sits atop the Mid-Florida Conference at 14-2, one game ahead of Seminole State College. The Patriots were on a nine-game conference win streak before splitting with Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday evening in Jacksonville. 

The Patriot offense continues to dominate the stat lines for yet another season.

As a team, CF ranks first in the state in total home runs (51), RBIs (375), and slugging percentage (.599), while ranking No. 2 in batting average (.389) and on-base percentage (.462). Freshman Takiya London leads the state in RBI (56) and second in total home runs hit (14).

In the circle, Lindsay Markham-Rosario leads the state and nation in total wins (22) and No. 2 in the state in total strike outs (164).

Fellow FCSAA Region VIII teams Chipola College (1) and Florida SouthWestern State College (2) also ranked Top 5 in the national poll. 

CF will be back in action on Thursday when it hosts Seminole State College for a doubleheader at 2:30 & 4:30 p.m. This will be a crucial doubleheader for both squads in securing the No. 1 overall spot in the conference.
