#CFSOFTBALL SWEEPS LAKE-SUMTER STATE

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team sweeps Lake-Sumter State College 11-1, 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in Leesburg. With the win, the Patriots sit atop the Mid-Florida Conference at 9-1.

Lindsay Markham-Rosario led the charge in the circle throwing a no-hitter in game one as the Lady Patriots run-ruled the LakeHawks in six innings. Markham-Rosario didn't allow a hit or earned run while striking out six to secure her 19th win of the season. With the win, Markham-Rosario is tied for most wins in the state, while ranking second in total strike outs and top five in lowest earned run average.

The Patriot offense received three homers from Takiya London, Karli Woolington and Elaina Lukas. Lukas led the offense in game one, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while Woolington (3-for-4, two runs scored) and Jenna Rodelo (1-for-3) each added two RBI.

In game two, CF took a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Lake-Sumter had a late rally off a two-out double to bring the game to within one run, but Morgan Cushman shut the door with a strikeout to thwart a LakeHawk comeback.

Woolington led the charge at the plate, finishing game two 3-for-3 with a RBI. Gretchen Ebert and Lukas also drove in runs in the win.

In the circle, Cushman allowed just two earned runs on eight hits and struck out a season-high 10 batters.

CF will be back in action when they host conference opponent Santa Fe College for a doubleheader on Tuesday at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
