#CFSOFTBALL SWEEPS DAYTONA STATE
OCALA-- The College of Central Florida softball team swept Daytona State College 7-1, 11-4 on the road in Daytona Beach on Saturday afternoon. With the win, CF is tied for first in the conference at 7-1 with Seminole State College.
 
The Lady Patriots (34-8) got the scoring going in the first inning with Aliyah Carter singling in Takiya London. CF later added three runs in the fourth and seven innings to put the game away. 
 
London went 2-for-4 with three RBI in game one, while Julia Ramos (2-for-4) drove in two. London currently leads the state in RBI with 51.
 
Lindsay Markham-Rosario allowed just one earned run on three hits and struck out nine in the win. With the win, Markham-Rosario is tied for most wins in the state. 
 
In game two, CF rallied back from down 3-2 after four innings to score nine runs in the final three innings. Maggie Trgo (1-for4) and Elaina Lukas (1-for-1) each led the offense with two RBI each.
 
In the circle, Morgan Cushman allowed just two earned runs on eight hits and struck out nine for the win. 
 
Lady Patriot pitchers combined to strikeout 18 in the doubleheader.
 
CF will return to conference action when they travel to Lake-Sumter State College on Saturday for a doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m.
