CUSHMAN NAMED FPN PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN

OCALA-- College of Central Florida softball pitcher Morgan Cushman was named to the Fastpitch News NJCAA Div. 1 Preseason All-American list on Wednesday afternoon. Cushman is the only player from the state of Florida named to the list.

The sophomore from Lake City, Fla. is one of two pitchers returning to the circle for head coach Kevin Fagan. Cushman finished her freshman campaign with a 1.84 ERA and 142 strike outs in 167 innings pitched. She finished the season with 35 wins, second most of all Region 8 pitchers.

Cushman earned FCSAA Pitcher of the Week during the 2017 season. She went 4-0 on the week with a 0.91 ERA during the Feb. 6, 2017 voting period. She allowed just three runs and scattered 11 hits while striking out 27 in 23 innings of work. She recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in the five-inning shutout against Lake Land College.

As a result of her dominant performance in the circle, Cushman received first team all-conference honors and NFCA Second Team All-Region honors to close out the season.
