OCALA-- College of Central Florida right-handed pitcher Shayne O'Connell picked up her first honors of the year being named FCSAA and NJCAA Div. I Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Jan. 30.

O'Connell, a freshman from Chiles High School in Tallahassee, pitched 11 scoreless innings during the voting period, leading CF to wins over State College of Florida-Manatee and Miami Dade College. She allowed just one hit and struck out 16 in her appearances. 

On the year, O'Connell is 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 27 strike outs in 19 innings of work.
