OCALA--The College of Central Florida softball program is sending eight sophomores to four-year institutions for the upcoming 2016-17 athletic year.

Led by Kalen McGill, a NJCAA First Team All-American as a pitcher, the Patriots produced a banner year in terms of moving players to the next level under coach Kevin Fagan.

McGill (South Florida), who signed during the spring, led a list of signees who are headed to colleges across the country.

Tiona Hill (West Florida), Kylie Holton (Morehead State University), Kaylee Smith (Thomas University), Edrienne Williams (University of Detroit), Rebecca Enter (West Florida), Morgan Matthews (King University) and Mariah Wise (University of Toldeo) are also headed to four-year programs. 

Williams finished with 14 multi-hit games as a sophomore and had a streak of home runs in three straight games during CF's run to its second straight Mid-Florida Conference championship.

Wise hit .471 and was a second-team All-American as a freshman. She was also first team all-conference and all-region.

She set single season school records for stolen bases, triples and runs scored. 

Wise is also CF's career leader in triples and runs scored.

Matthews, a pitcher, won all five of her decisions during her time at CF. 

Hill upped her batting average nearly 300 points from her freshman season to her final year at CF.

Enter had seven multi-hit games and batted over .300 as a sophomore. She was a second-team all-conference pick as a freshman.

Smith ended her career at CF with seven multi-hit games and batted .344 as a sophomore. 

Holton raised her average over 100 points from her freshman year and teamed with Enter to smack 14 home runs this past spring.
