Lady Patriots complete season sweep of St. Johns River

OCALA--The College of Central Florida softball team extended its winning streak to 29 games with a sweep of St. Johns River State College by scores of 5-2 and 10-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Patriots (49-1, 14-0) got strong efforts in the circle from Kalen McGill and Lindsey White, with contributions from throughout their lineup in the sweep of the Vikings.

CF led 5-0 in the opener, before the Vikings got on the board with single runs over the last two innings.

From there, the Patriots scored in each of their four at-bats in the five-inning triumph to close the day.

The Patriots got three home runs from Brooke Barlow (No. 2 in the state and nation in home runs), Destinee Lizzmore and Kylie Holton in the win. 

McGill scattered four hits and struck out six in seven innings of work, while White allowed two runs on two hits in five innings.

At the plate, Taylor Cruce (1-for-1, two RBI), Mariah Wise (1-for-5, run scored, RBI), Caeley Nix (4-for-6, two runs scored), Barlow (4-for-6, three runs scored, two RBI, home run), Tiona Hill (3-for-6, run scored, two RBI, double), Holton (2-for-5, run scored, two RBI, home run), Rebecca Enter (3-for-6, two runs scored), Deeandreaya Davis (2-for-4), Edrienne Williams (1-for-3, two runs scored, RBI) and Lizzmore (1-for-3, three runs scored, three RBI, home run) led CF at the plate over the course of the twinbill.
