Softball sweeps Daytona

OCALA--The College of Central Florida softball team improved to 39-1 overall and 8-0 in the Mid-Florida Conference with wins of 9-1 and 11-3 over Daytona State on Sunday afternoon.

Brooke Barlow homered in both ends of the doubleheader, while Tiona Hill, Taylor Cruce and Kylie Holton also went deep over the course of the doubleheader for the nation's top-ranked team.

In the opener, Barlow (1-for-2, two RBI, run scored), Caeley Nix (three runs scored, double), Edrienne Williams (2-for-4, run scored, two RBI), Destinee Lizzmore (2-for-3, RBI), and Hill (1-for-3, run scored, two RBI) led the way at the plate.

Kalen McGill went six innings and allowed one run on two hits to get the win.

The second game saw Lindsey White didn't allow an earned run in five innings, as she scattered three hits.

Mariah Wise (2-for-3, two runs scored, two RBI, double), Nix (two runs scored), Barlow (2-for-3, two runs scored, two RBI), Hill (3-for-3, double, RBI) and Williams (double) led the way for CF in the second game.
