Softball sweeps Manatees

OCALA--The College of Central Florida softball team improved to 27-1 with wins of 9-1 and 12-8 over State College of Florida-Manatee.

Kalen McGill allowed one run on three hits in six innings of work in the opener, while the Patriots bashed six home runs in the second game.

In the opener, Kelsee Cullop (3-for-4, two runs scored, three RBI), Kylie Holton (3-for-4, run scored, three RBI, home run), Edrienne Williams (2-for-3), Rebecca Enter (2-for-4, run scored, RBI), Deeandreaya Davis (1-for-2, RBI) led the way for CF.

In the second game, CF led 8-0 after two innings and improved to 4-0 for the year over SCF.

Cullop (2-for-3, three runs scored, double, home run), Barlow (1-for-4, two runs scored, three RBI, home run), Tiona Hill (3-for-3, run scored, RBI, home run), Holton (1-for-2, run scored, two RBI, home run), Destinee Lizzmore (2-for-4, two runs scored, three RBI, two home runs) and Alexis Goyette (2-for-2) paced the Patriots in the second game.

CF visits Miami Dade on Friday for a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m., followed by a doubleheader against Florida Southwester at City of Palms Park on Saturday.
