Softball splits with St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG- The College of Central Florida softball team suffered its first defeat of the season on Tuesday night.

After hammering St. Petersburg College in the first game of the doubleheader, the Patriots (18-1) lost in walk-off fashion 2-1 in the nightcap.

CF committed three errors and was unable to take advantage of eight hits.

In the opener, the Patriots jumped out to a 15-0 lead through four innings and cruised.

Deeandreaya Davis (2-for-2, two runs scored, two RBI, double), Edrienne Williams (4-for-4, three runs scored, two RBI, double, triple, home run), Mariah Wise (3-for-5, three runs scored, RBI, home run), Caeley Nix (1-for-3, three runs scored, RBI), Kelsee Cullop (2-for-4, three runs scored, two RBI), Brooke Barlow (2-for-5, five RBI, double), Tiona Hill (1-for-5, two RBI), Kylie Holton (2-for-3, two runs scored) and Brooke Harris (1-for-4, two runs scored, double) led CF in the opener.
