McGill named NJCAA, FCSAA Pitcher of the Week

OCALA-- College of Central Florida softball player Kalen McGill earned NJCAA and FCSAA State Softball Pitcher of the Week honors in helping the Lady Patriots rise to the No. 1 spot in the FCSAA State Coaches Poll.

McGill went 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA during the voting period.

She allowed just 1 run in 20 innings of work.

Along the way, the former P.K. Yonge High School standout, allowed just six hits and walked one.

McGill fanned 18 batters during her run, which keyed an 8-0 start by the Patriots.

Among the top wins for McGill were NJCAA No. 10 Odessa and Tallahassee Community College in a rematch of the 2014 state championship game.

McGill is the first CF pitcher to earn pitcher of the week since Holly McKinnon, who earned multiple POW honors in 2015.
