OCALA--When you spend six weeks at the top of the NJCAA National Poll, you're doing a ton of things right.

Earlier this week, the College of Central Florida's dominance was acknowledged with the release of the Mid-Florida Conference awards.

Leading the way for CF was pitcher Holly McKinnon, who earned the MFC's pitcher of the year.

McKinnon is the first Patriot pitcher in school history to earn the conference's top pitcher honor.

She earned state player of the week honors three times and was national pitcher of the week once during the regular season. The three pitcher of the week honors are also a school record for McKinnon, a sophomore who played her high school softball at North Marion High School.

McKinnon was joined on the first-team all-conference list by Autumn Hanners (P), Lindsay O'Steen (IF), Taylor Morrow (IF), Mariah Wise (OF) and Eryn Chester (OF).

Hanners and Morrow are repeat selections to the all-MFC first team, while O'Steen moved up from a second-team selection in 2014. 

Morrow was a two-time state player of the week during the regular season, while Wise also earned the honor in a banner year for CF in softball awards.

Chester's selection to the first-team marked the second consecutive year a former Belleview High School standout made the team.

In 2014, pitcher Jamie Nelson, a former BHS pitcher, was named to the first team. 

On the second-team, Cheyenne Blaha, Rebecca Enter, Jordan Lane, Nicole White and Sarah Heimbach were the Patriot players honored, while Kylie Holton and Edrienne Williams earned honorable mention honors.

CF has one regular season doubleheader tomorrow before it opens up state tournament play against Tallahassee Community College on May 1.

The Patriots knocked off the Eagles by scores of 3-2 and 3-0 earlier this season.

TCC defeated CF in last year's state championship game, but the Patriots' run at nationals was much more impressive than that of the Eagles.

CF finished second in the nation last year, while TCC went 0-2 at nationals.
