Morrow named FCSAA Softball Player of the Week

OCALA- For the second time this season, Taylor Morrow has earned NJCAA/FCSAA Region VIII Player of the Week.

Morrow, a sophomore infielder, hit .571 this past week and joined the short list of CF players to earn multiple player of the week honors.

It also marks the second consecutive week that CF has produced the state player of the week.

Prior to Morrow, Mariah Wise earned player of the week, while Holly McKinnon earned her third pitcher of the week honor.

Along the way to her second honor, Morrow went 8-for-14 with six runs scored, four RBI and two doubles.

She saved her best for CF's finest moment of the season.

Needing a sweep to keep hard-charging Seminole State at bay in the race for the Mid-Florida Conference championship, Morrow went 5-for-9 with three runs scored and three RBI in two games against Daytona State.

The second game of the doubleheader, a 10-0 win, enabled the Patriots to clinch their first-ever conference championship in the sport of softball.

Morrow's efforts also helped CF sweep the season series against Daytona for the first time in school history.

CF finished 20-4 in the MFC, one game ahead of Seminole State, and Morrow, who has 11 career home runs and 75 RBI, is a big reason the program has continued to climb to national prominence.
