CF Softball sweeps TCC

OCALA- After moving up to the No. 1 in the NJCAA National Poll earlier on Tuesday, the College of Central Florida softball team swept the team it lost in last year's state championship game.

The Patriots (26-2) took games by scores of 3-2 and 3-0 from Tallahassee Community College at home.

CF trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, but scored three runs in the frame to take the lead for good.

Edrienne Williams tied the game for the Patriots with a two-run homer.

It was the 34th home run of the year for CF, most in the nation.

From there, Cheyenne Blaha and Autumn Hanners walked, which set the table for Taylor Morrow, who delivered the game-winning hit.

Holly McKinnon, the reigning FCSAA Pitcher of the Week, didn't allow an earned run in seven innings.

She walked two and struck out five.

McKinnon threw 126 pitches, 79 for strikes, as the Patriots were able to rally despite managing just four hits.

CF, the nation's leader in run scored, also finished with four hits, but got another big game effort in the circle and turned back TCC.

In the second game, Hanners tossed a five-hit shutout for CF.

Morrow (2-for-3, run scored, RBI), Jordan Lane (double) and Kylie Holton (two-run homer) gave CF all the offense it would need in sweeping TCC.
