CF Softball bolsters strong recruiting class

Ocala, FL--After marching to the NJCAA National Championship Game, the College of Central Florida softball team has reloaded for the upcoming season.

 CF coaches Kevin Fagan and Mike Lingle have signed 12 players for the program, which reached new heights during the 2014 season.

 

A trio of players from the Patriots' signing class participated in the recent FACA All-Star Softball Classic in Ocala.

 

Kylie Holton, a catcher from Baker County, earned MVP honors for the North. Holton hit .450 with nine home runs and 47 RBI as a senior and led the Wildcats to a district championship. For her career, Holton hit .480 with 23 homers and 122 RBI in 81 games in high school.

  

Another CF signee who played in the FACA event was Courtney Riddle from Hernando High School, who started her career at Hernando Christian as a seventh-grader and ended her prep career with 94 victories as a pitcher.

 

 As a senior, Riddle went 27-2 and led Hernando to the regional finals in Class 5A. She also hit .485 with three homers and 44 RBI as a senior. During her high school career, Riddle recorded 735 strikeouts in 787 innings of work.

 

Riddle and Holton were also joined in the classic by Edrienne Williams, an outfielder from Tallahassee Godby. As a senior, Williams hit .424 with three homers and 20 RBI. Over her final two seasons, Williams had 21 doubles, including 11 as a senior.

 

The entire CF recruiting class is loaded with talent.

 

Strawberry Crest's Trystan Reibsome finished her career with a .517 average and also played strong at third base, while Bartow's Deeandreaya Davis (OF) becomes the second player in an as many seasons to join CF (Cheyenne Blaha, an all-tournament pick at the national tournament for the Patriots finished her high school career at Bartow).

 

Rebecca Enter of Clay High School in Green Cove Springs hit .346 as a catcher and led her team to the regional playoffs, while Dunedin's Tiona Hill (Util.) also sparked her squad to the postseason.

 

Joining Riddle in the circle are Tallahassee Lincoln's Morgan Matthews (who also plays first base) and Susan Hinks of Lake Wales, who threw a perfect game during her senior season.

 

Mariah Wise of Bradenton Manatee, Kylee Smith of Gainesville Buchholz and Jaymee Kendall of Park Vista round out the list of signees for the Patriots. Kendall helped led her team to the regional finals in Class 8A as a senior.
