OCALA-- The College of Central Florida will honor nine sophomores who helped the softball program to its best-ever regular season record on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. prior to the team's game against St. Petersburg College. 

Jenna Bellach, Amber Acosta, Jamie Summers, Jamie Nelson, Jessica Nathan, Caylee Underwood, Taylor Bowen, Alora Thompson and Amy Szymanowski will be honored prior to the Patriots' final doubleheader of the regular season.

CF is 4-0 against SPC this season and a school-best 19-3 at home. The Patriots earned wins of 10-0, 6-1, 9-6 and 10-2 over the Titans earlier this season. 

Nathan (3-for-10, three runs scored, two RBI, home run, triple), Szymanowski (4-for-7, two runs scored, three RBI, home run, triple), Autumn Hanners (5-for-12, three runs scored, three RBI, three doubles), Cheyenne Blaha (6-for-15, five runs scored, four RBI, double), Lindsay O'Steen (4-for-11, four runs scored, three RBI, home run, double), Jordan Lane (8-for-14, six runs scored, four RBI, home run) and Taylor Morrow (6-for-15, run scored) have been the top hitters for CF against SPC.

In the circle, Jamie Nelson is 2-0 against the Titans and has allowed just three runs on four hits in nine innings of work. Taylor Bowen is 1-0 against SPC and allowed just one hit and no earned runs in seven innings in her team's 6-1 win in late February. 

Both teams have clinched spots in the FCSAA Tournament. 

The Patriots will compete in the Atlantic District and open the double-elimination tournament on Friday, May 2 at Exchange Park in Pensacola against Eastern Florida State at 12 p.m. CST. Meanwhile, SPC will face Northwest Florida State in the Gulf District's opening round on the same day at 3 p.m.
