Szymanowski named FCSAA Softball Player of the Week

OCALA-- For the second time this season and third time in her career, College of Central Florida softball standout Amy Szymanowski has been named the FCSAA Region VIII Player of the Week. 

Szymanowski went 4-for-7 with nine runs scored, one double, two home runs and four RBI during the voting period. She set the CF single-season home run record in her first at-bat in the her team's sweep of FSC-Jacksonville and also set the single-season runs scored in the same doubleheader.

From there, she would smash her fourth homer of the season against St. Johns River State and extend her school career record to 34. 

With Szymanowski's selection, it marks the fourth time this season a CF player has been named player of the week. Aside from Szymanowski, Jordan Lane and Jessica Nathan were also named player of the week for the Patriots.

CF is ranked No. 4 in the coaches' poll, the highest for any team from the Mid-Florida Conference.
