Lady Patriots sweep Seminole, Szymanowski hits 3 HR

Sanford, FL- It was the Amy Szymanowski show for the College of Central Florida softball team.

Szymanowski hit three home runs over the course of the doubleheader, as the Patriots swept hard-charging Seminole State 5-2 and 2-0.

With her three homers on Saturday, Szymanowski now has 16 homers for the season and 32 for her career.

Last season, the Florida State commit set the single season and career home run records for the Patriots.

On Saturday, she tied her single-season mark with solo homer in the second game. Szymanowski started off the day with a 2 for 4, two home runs, four RBI game in the opener.

Jordan Lane (2 for 3), Jessica Nathan (double) backed Szymanowski in the first game at the plate.

In the circle, Taylor Bowen (15-5) allowed four hits in five innings, while Autumn Hannersallow just one hit in two innings for the save.

CF received strong pitching in the second game, as well, behind Jamie Nelson (10-2), who scattered four hits in five innings.

Hanners finished up with two hitless innings for her second save of the day. She also hit a solo homer, as the Patriots improved to 4-0 on the season against Seminole (26-17, 10-8), which was 10-4 in conference play after a 0-4 start.

Taylor Morrow (2 for 3) also had a solid game at the plate for CFC

CF (32-11, 13-5) returns to action at home on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 against rival Santa Fe in a battle for first place in the MFC.
