CF Softball goes 2-0 on Day 2 at Indian River

Ocala, FL-- The College of Central Florida softball team swept a pair of games on Sunday in the Indian River Tournament.

The Patriots opened things up with a 9-3 rout of Heartland Community College and then downed Hillsborough 4-2.

In the opener against Heartland, Cheyenne Blaha (2-for-3, run scored, RBI, double) Amy Szymanowski (2-for-4, triple), Jordan Lane (4-for-4, two runs scored, RBI), Jenna Bellach (...2-for-4) led the way for CF at the plate.

Lindsay O'Steen earned the win, while Taylor Bowen went the final three innings for the save.

Against Hilsborough, O'Steen hit a solo homer, while Autumn Hanners (1-for-2, runs scored) and Lizzy Burchfield (1-for-3, RBI) led the way at the plate.

Hanners earned the win on the mound after going the distance and scattering five hits with seven strikeouts.

CF hosts Seminole State on Tuesday afternoon in its conference at 2:30.
