Men & Women Basketball down Daytona on the road

OCALA-The College of Central Florida men's and women's basketball teams picked up big conference road wins at Daytona State College on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Patriots recorded their third consecutive conference win after rallying back to defeat the Falcons 66-62.

Amanda Melosky led all scorers with 17 points, while Nicola Mathews put up 13 points and Fernanda Midaglia and Shakarri Mack each added 12.

In the second game of the day, the men looked to avenge a 90-84 loss they suffered at home earlier in the month. 

CF went into the half with a 23 point lead and would hold on to win it 92-83. With the win, the Patriots move to 3-2 in conference play and even the season series to 1-1 with Daytona, with the pivotal rubber match coming on Feb. 15 in Ocala. 

Ivan Gandia had a career night draining five 3-pointers and putting up a season-high 33 points. Other key contributors include: Paul Turner (11 points), Malik Dunbar (10 points), Francois Lewis (10 points), and Anthony Johnson (13 rebounds).
