OCALA--The College of Central Florida men's and women's basketball teams traveled to Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon to take on Florida State College at Jacksonville in the first conference games of the season.

The women kicked off the doubleheader action, falling to the Blue Wave 64-55. Newcomer Marcella Lamark dos Santos led all scorers with 13 points, while Shambria Washington (12 points) and Nicola Mathews (10 points) also finished in double figures.

CF men followed the Lady Patriots, dropping their first conference game 77-73. They are now 14-6 on the season. Point guard Ivan Gandia led the Patriots with 24 points on the afternoon.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they host rival Daytona State College. The women tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.
