Jonathan Koenigsfeld enters his eleventh season as assistant baseball coach at the College of Central Florida. He the Patriots hitting and infield coach.

Koenigsfeld has been instrumental in the Patriot success over the past 10 years, including a NJCAA No. 1 ranking and Mid-Florida Conference championship in 2019, as well as the program's first NJCAA All-American in more than 15 years.

Koenigsfeld has helped over 70 players move on to the NJCAA Div. I, II and NAIA levels. He was also instrumental in the development of SEC and University of Kentucky standout Luke Heyer, who was drafted in the eighth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018 as well as Houston Astros 2019 draft pick James Nix.

Since 2018, Koenigsfeld helped develop one of the top offenses in the state and nation, with the Patriot 2019 squad finishing first in the FCSAA, Top 20 in NCJAA in the following categories: runs scored (479), home runs (56), RBI (416), batting average (.335), on-base percentage (.445), and slugging percentage (.519). He also helped lead the Patriots to a No. 1 state ranking for nine weeks, as well as a Top 5 NJCAA for 10 of 11 weeks, ranking as high as No. 1 for two weeks and No. 2 for four weeks, culminating to the program's first MFC title since 2007.

During the 2019 campaign, Koenigsfeld was instrumental in the develop University of South Carolina singee James Nix, who was drafted in the 35th round by the Houston Astros, Nolan Machibroda, and Ricky Presno. Nix finished No. 1 in FCSAA in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage, while ranking Top three in home runs. Machibroda led the state, ranked Top 10 in the nation, in runs batted in (73), while Presno finished second in the state for most home runs hit.

In 2018, Koenigsfeld helped develop one of the top offenses in the state en rout to a Mid-Florida Conference runner-up finish and state tournament qualification. The Patriot squad shattered the previous CF home run record (56) by blasting 93 homers on the year, good for No. 1 in FCSAA and No. 7 in the NJCAA. Five of the Top 10 home run hitters in the state were from CF.

As a squad, Koenigsfeld helped the Patriot offense to No. 1 FCSAA finishes in on-base percentage (.428) and slugging percentage (.568), while finishing No. 2 in team batting average (.322). CF ranked Top 10 in the state all season long and garned six MFC All-Conference selections and an all-state selection in Smallwood.

Koenigsfeld is no stranger to CF as he helped lead the Patriot baseball team to a Mid-Florida Conference title and state runner up finish in 2007 as a player. The FCSAA First-Team All State infielder and NJCAA Academic All-American then continued on to Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. There he was a three-year starting shortstop and team captain and garnered Gulf South Conference honors as well as various academic accolades including the Gulf South Conference Commissioner's Cup, awarded to the top academic athlete in the conference. As a senior, Koenigsfeld helped lead Valdosta to a Gulf South Conference Championship and was named an ESPN Academic All-American First Team member.

After his playing career ended, Koenigsfeld spent one season as a graduate assistant baseball coach at Valdosta State while earning his Master of Education in School Counseling. He then coached one year at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss. before returning back to CF.

Koenigsfeld resides in Ocala with his wife, Stephanie, and two sons, Addison and Evan.
