David Houtz enters his fourth year an assistant coach with the College of Central Florida. He has had an immediate impact on the program working with the infielders and hitters as well as managing the tech side of the program by running the Yakkertech data collection system during games and overseeing live scoring/video with Gamechanger. Before retiring and moving to the Ocala area he coached high school baseball in Miami, FL at Southridge from 2009-15 and South Dade from 2015-2020. He coached current Toronto Blue Jays MLB pitcher Alek Manoah while at South Dade High School. From 2013-2015 Houtz coached the Team Florida 17U team who were the 2014 CABA 17U National Champions. Houtz worked 30 years with Florida Power and Light (FPL) at Turkey Point Nuclear Plant.

He now resides in Dunnellon with wife Kelly, and their two children Garrett and Kimberly.
