The Patriots moved into sole possession of third place in the Citrus Conference after going on the road and sweeping Daytona State College 8-1 and 15-8 on Saturday. The sweep doesn't yet clinch the Pats chances of making the FCSAA playoffs with only one three-game conference series remaining however it surely helped. Cooper Jones led the offense on the day with four hits, seven RBI, and two home runs. His seventh and eighth home runs of the season.

In the opener, starting pitcher Brayden Toro (4-2) went six strong innings allowing only three hits, one run, and striking out eight Falcon batters. Cory Geinzer struck out three in his one inning of work. Jones had four RBI in game one while Victor Martinez, Gio Mendoza, and Miles Curley each knocked in a run.

In game two, the Pats built a 10-2 lead going into the seventh inning only to have the Falcons rally to get within three runs. CF would put the game away with a four-run ninth inning. The big hits in the inning were a run scoring double by Martinez and Jones' second home run of the day. Leading hitters in game two were Dawson Harman (3H, RBI), Martinez (2B, 3 RBI), Anthony Diaz (2H, RBI, SB) , Jones (2H, HR, 3 RBI, SB), and Bruno Schafer (3H, 2B, RBI). Karson Lindsey (2-0) struck out nine over 5.1 innings of work allowing only four hits and two runs to earn the win.

CF improves to 33-14 and 18-12 in the Citrus Conference. With only one three-game conference series remaining against first place Indian River State College, the Pats haven't clinched a playoff berth yet, but one win against the Pioneers will get them a regional spot.
