The College of Central Florida Patriots held off a hard charging Santa Fe Saints team 13-12 in the second game of the day to earn a split of the Citrus Conference doubleheader. By splitting the two games, the Pats won the series 2 games to one.

Dawson Harman once again led the Pats offense hitting two home runs in game two to give him fourteen on the season. He finished the game with three hits and three RBI. Victor Martinez belted his sixth home run with three RBI, and Cooper Jones hit a three-run home run for his fourth of the season. CF collected sixteen hits to build up a six-run lead but relied on the relief pitching of Jose Paniagua (2 IP, 2H, R, K), Karson Lindsey (0.1 IP, 0H, 0R), and Colston Altman (0.2, 0H, 0R) to close out the Saints over the last three innings. Miles Curley (2-4, 2R, RBI), Jacob McKenzie (3-5, RBI), and Marcus Bradshaw (2-4, 3R, SB) contributed to the offensive outburst.

The Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one with five hits including a two-run double from Martinez, and an RBI single by Anthony Diaz. But the Saints got to CF starting pitcher Hunter Jones early in game one and built a lead they would never relinquish, winning the game 9-5. Santa Fe's Ryan Chase (2-3, HR), Zach Dejesus (2-4, 2R) and Erik Blair (1-3, 2B) combined for all nine runs batted in to lead the Saints offense. Tanner Swank had two hits and an RBI for the Pats

CF moves to 25-8, 11-7 in the Citrus Conference, which is places the team in a tie for second place. SF is now 16-18 on the season and 8-10 in Citrus Conference play.

The Patriots will travel to Palatka on Tuesday for a non-conference game against the St. Johns River State College Vikings, 6:00 PM
