Pats Baseball Wins 9-6 at St Pete College

It has been a busy week for the College of Central Florida Patriots baseball team as they just played their third game in three days and have a doubleheader yet to play on Friday. Today’s game was on the road against the St. Petersburg College Titans where the Pats pulled off a 9-6 victory in Clearwater at Jack Russell Stadium.

CF pitcher, Isaac Sewell got the win by throwing 4.2 innings in relief of starter, Evan Dobias. Sewell allowed three runs with two strikeouts and improves to 2-0 on the season. Dobias tossed 4.1 innings allowing three runs with two strikeouts.

Clutch two-out hits from Armando Guirola (2H, 2 RBI) and Anthony Diaz (H, 2 RBI) ignited the offense. Contributions from Cole Bullen (2H, RBI), Edwin Toribio (3H, RBI), Gunnett Carlson (2H), and Austin Eppley (HR#3, RBI) kept the pressure on the Titans and allowed the Pats to come home with the victory. CF improves to 13-7, 4-3 while SPC falls to 6-12, 1-6.

Saturday’s scheduled doubleheader against St. Petersburg has been moved to a Friday doubleheader in Ocala due to incoming weather. First pitch for game one will be at 12 PM
