The College of Central Florida Patriots overcame 8 hit batters and 6 walks by the pitching staff and 6 errors from the defense in their 13-12 win over Eastern Florida State College Titans.

CF couldn't pull away from the scrappy Titans, who took advantage of many of the Patriot blunders. The Pats had leads of 4-0 and 8-3, but found themselves in an 11-11 tie in the seventh inning.

In the bottom of the seventh inning the Pats would take the lead for good when with two outs and no runners on, Kareh Valentin was hit by a pitch and scored on an Edwin Toribio double. Kainen Jorge would then double home Toribio to make it a 13-11 CF lead.

Luke Ridley was the fifth pitcher for the Pats and found some trouble in the top of the ninth inning when the first two batters reached via a walk and an error. The error allowed the runner to score and made it a 13-12 game. Ridley would settle down to induce a groundout and then would strikeout the final two batters to leave the tieing run stranded at third base. Ridley earned his first save of the season.

Leading the offense for the game were; Edwin Toribio (3-3, 3R, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI), Kareh Valentin (3-3, 4R, 3B), Kainen Jorge (2B, 3 RBI), Gunnett Carlson (HR#3, 2 RBI), and Logan Chapman (two 2Bs, 3 RBI).

CF improves to 11-4, 3-1 while EFSC falls to 7-9-1, 0-4. Same two teams will play a doubleheader this Saturday in Melbourne 12:00/3:00 PM.
