The Patriots swept a doubleheader from the South Georgia State Hawks on Saturday afternoon in Ocala, 3-2 and 14-4. The wins pushed CF's winning streak to seven games and improved their record to 7-3. South Georgia fell to 4-6.

Fulton Lockhart (1-1) earned the win in game one with 3.1 innings in relief allowing 3 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 4. Isaac Sewell pitched 1.2 innings allowing no hits, no runs with one strikeout to earn his first save of the season.

Edwin Toribio hit his third home run of the season and had two RBI. Gunnett Carlson went 2 for 3.

In game two the Pats offense exploded for 14 runs on 12 hits, with nine of those hits going for extra bases. Cooper Jones (2B, HR), Kareh Valentin (HR, 4 RBI), Carlson (HR, 3 RBI), Toribio (2B, RBI), Kainen Jorge (HR, 2 RBI), Logan Chapman (2B, 2 RBI), and Anthony Diaz (2 2B, RBI) led the offensive outburst.

Sebastian Perez started and went 3.2 innings allowing 5 hits, no earned runs, and striking out four Hawks batters. Todd Kniebbe (2-0) relieved Perez and took the win by throwing 1.1 innings allowing no hits, no runs, with one strikeout. Luke Ridley tossed one inning with no hits, no runs, and two strikeouts.

After starting the season with three straight losses, the Patriots have reeled off seven wins in a row. The timing is good as they play one more non-conference game on Tuesday against ABAC (2:00 PM @ Goodlett Field) before Citrus Conference play begins on Thursday in Miami against perennial powerhouse Miami-Dade College. Miami-Dade will then play a doubleheader against the Pats in Ocala on Saturday, 2/17 at 11 AM/2 PM.
