The Atlanta Braves drafted Kevin Kilpatrick with their 17th round pick (515 overall) in the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft. Kilpatrick, who was committed to the University of Houston, had a stellar career for the Patriots in his time at Central Florida. As the Patriots leadoff hitter he set the school record for hits in a season with 100 hits this year. Kilpatrick was also named a first team All-State and a first team All-Mid Florida Conference outfielder. He hit .383 on the year with a .450 on base percentage and slugged .628. Along with his record breaking 100 hits (tied for 6th in the country), he blasted 11 home runs, 15 doubles and 8 triples and scored 78 runs. Kilpatrick who is from the Atlanta area and has been a Braves fan his whole life said, "This still feels unreal and is a dream come true! Thank you Braves!"
