The College of Central Florida Patriots baseball team finished up their regular season by winning the Mid-Florida Conference by ten games over second place St. Johns River State College. Their 27-3 conference record was the best winning percentage ever for a Patriots squad and led to the conference voting in ten Pats players to either first or second team all-conference. The Patriots placed seven players on the First Team All-Conference with infielders Nicholas Calero and Caleb Cali, outfielders Kevin Kilpatrick and Victor Castillo and pitchers Landon Ginn, Ben Chestnutt, and Aaron Combs. Second team all-conference players included: infielder Edrick Felix, catcher Jared Evans and designated hitter John Marant.
The Pats were awarded even more accolades as Caleb Cali was voted the Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year. Cali finished the regular season hitting .430 with 15 home runs and 71 RBIs. Ben Chestnutt was voted the Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year. Chestnutt finished the regular season 10-0 with 68 innings pitched, 92 strike outs, only 22 walks and a 2.91 ERA. The Final Mid-Florida Conference Award went to Head Coach Marty Smith as the 2022 Mid-Florida Conference Coach of the Year.
Congratulations to all the College of Central Florida Patriots for making All-Conference.
