Patriots Blow Out Falcons 13-1

The power laden College of Central Florida offense has some versatility in them as well as they used nine singles and only three extra base hits to defeat the Daytona State College Falcons 13-1 in their Friday afternoon game in Daytona. The game ended after only five innings due to the conference run rule.

Caleb Cali drove home three runs with a pair of doubles, Victor Castillo had two hits and three RBI, and Carson Bayne hit an opposite field grand slam home run to lead the offense. Jared Evans and Nicholas Calero each had two hits.

James Hill (3-0) gave up only two hits, no runs and struck out four in his four innings of work. This was Hill's second quality start in a row in conference play and has really stepped up in his new role as a starting pitcher.

The Patriots winning streak improved to nine in a row and the team is currently ranked #3 in the NJCAA Region 8 Coaches Poll with a 31-13 over-all record and 17-2 in the Mid-Florida Conference.

Game two of the three game series with the Daytona State Falcons is Saturday, 1:00 PM at Goodlett Field in Ocala.
