Patriot pitchers Ben Chestnutt and Parker Seay combined for nine innings of shutout baseball in the College of Central Florida's 7-0 win over the Santa Fe College Saints. Chestnutt continued his season of dominance on the mound by throwing seven innings allowing only four hits and striking out three. He remains perfect with a 7-0 record. Chestnutt gave way to Seay who closed out the game over the last two innings without allowing a hit and striking out four Saints batters. The win was the fifth in a row for the Pats and improves the Patriots to 27-13 overall and 13-2 in the Mid-Florida Conference. The Saints fall to 21-15, 9-6.

The Patriots broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when a run scored on an error by the Saints second baseman, Tyler Shelnut. Another run would come across on a David Pereira single to make it 2-0 Pats. Nicholas Calero drove home John Marant with a single to push the lead up to 3-0 in the fifth inning. The big inning for CF was the bottom of the seventh when a two out rally scored four runs. Victor Castillo (8th HR) and Edrick Felix (10th HR) hit home runs on consecutive pitches to make it 5-0. After a walk by Landon Ginn and a single by Calero, Pereira came through again with a two-run double to give the Pats their final margin of victory at 7-0. Pereira finished the game 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, Castillo 2-5, 2R, HR, RBI, and Calero 4-4, 2R, 2B, RBI.

The Patriots travel to Gainesville on Monday to finish a suspended game from March 9th. The Pats are leading 9-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning. That game will begin at 1:30 PM. 30 minutes following the conclusion of the suspended game the same two teams will square off in their regularly scheduled game.
