Patriots Overpower the Raiders 16-3

College of Central Florida centerfielder, Kevin Kilpatrick got things started early for the Patriots when he hit the first pitch of the game deep over the left field fence for his sixth home run of the season. This was just the beginning of the barrage of power that took place in the Patriots 16-3 win over the Seminole State College Raiders. The game ended after five innings due to the Mid-Florida Conference run rule.

Victor Castillo also went deep in the top of the first inning with a two-run shot that pushed the lead to 3-0. It was Castillo's seventh HR on the season. The Raiders plated two runs in their half of the first inning to make it a 3-2 game. Carson Bayne scored in the second on a double steal for a 4-2 Patriot lead. CF starting pitcher Aaron Combs held the Raiders scoreless in the second to keep the lead at two. The fireworks started in the top of the third inning when the Patriots scored seven runs after two were out to give CF a nine-run lead at 11-2. In the inning Carson Bayne and John Marant both had two-run singles followed by Caleb Cali's three-run home run, his seventh of the season. Cali has been so hot at the plate recently that he has earned the FCSAA Region 8 Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks. In the fourth inning the Patriots continued to produce runs as Edrick Felix singled home a run and Bayne drove home a run with a bases loaded walk. Cali, for good measure doubled home two runs to give CF a 16-2 lead. Cali finished the day with five RBI. Kilpatrick finished 3-4, Marant 2-4, 3 RBI, Castillo 2-3, 3R, 2 RBI, and Bayne 2-2, 3R, 3 RBI.

The win was the Patriots third win in a row and their twelfth win in the past thirteen games. CF's record now stands at 25-13 over-all and 11-2 in conference play. The Raiders fall to 18-14, 8-5.
