Patriots Win Streak Ends in 4-1 Loss to Vikings

The College of Central Florida Patriots (22-13, 8-2) were riding a season high nine game winning heading into their mid-week conference game at St. Johns River State College (18-17, 6-4), but the streak would not reach ten as the Vikings used strong pitching to beat the Patriots 4-1. St. John's starter Jarrett Maresco threw six innings allowing only two hits, one run and striking out five. A trio of Viking relievers held the Pats in check to secure the win.

The Patriots could only muster three hits on the night which included a Victor Castillo double and an Edrick Felix triple. The bright spot for CF was the relief outing from Freshman, James Hill who tossed 5.1 innings in relief allowing only five hits, one run and striking out twelve batters.

The Patriots are currently tied for first place in the Mid-Florida conference and look to win the series against the Vikings when they play the rubber match on Friday at Goodlett Field. Game time is 3:00 PM.
