Patriots Rout Vikings to Extend Winning Streak to 9 Games

The Patriots have had winning streaks in the past, but none as dominant as the one they are on now. After dispatching of the St. Johns Rivers State College Vikings 11-1 on Monday afternoon the Pats streak has reached nine straight wins. Eight of the nine games have ended early due to the run rule and the Patriots have outscored their opponents 104-17 on this run.

Aaron Combs (University of Tennessee commit) improved his season record to 3-2 by throwing a five-inning complete game. Combs allowed only four hits, no earned runs and struck out six batters. This was the fourth straight complete game for the Patriots. The CF batters belted twelve home runs in their recent three game series with Lake Sumter State College, but with the wind blowing in from center field were held without a long ball. This didn't seem to matter as the offense pounded out twelve hits including doubles from Caleb Cali, Edrick Felix and John Marant and triples from Kevin Kilpatrick and Landon Ginn. Leading hitters from the game include: Kilpatrick (2-3, 2R, 3B), Cali (2-2, 3R, 2B), Landon Ginn (3-3, 2R, 3B, 4 RBI), Victor Castillo (1-2, 2 RBI), and Edrick Felix (1-3, 2 RBI, 2B).

The College of Central Florida improves to 22-12 and 8-1 in the Mid-Florida Conference while the St. Johns River State College Vikings fall to 17-17 and 5-4.

Game two of the three game series will be on Wednesday evening 6:00 PM at Tindall Field on the campus of St. Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida.
